Former Chairman of the Securities & Exchange Commission
Dr. Mohammad Haroonur Rashid has an experience over 40 years of experience in senior civil service positions in Bangladesh and Pakistan and as a consultant. His distinguished career includes serving as Chairman of the Securities & Exchange Commission, Grameen Bank, and Janata Bank, Secretary for the Ministries of Planning and Labour and Manpower. He has held key roles as Additional Secretary of Banking, Controller of Capital Issues, and Member of the Planning Commission and the Task Force on Corporate Governance.
Dr. Rashid holds a PhD in Economics from Boston University.

Former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank
Dr. Mohammad Sohrab Uddin has an experience of a 20 years. He served as the Former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Director of Jiban Bima Corporation, Director General of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management, Senior Economist/Advisor of Central Bank Of Oman.
Mr. Sohrab Uddin completed his PhD in Economics from University of Vanderbilt. He also holds the AIA designation from the Institute of Actuaries in the United Kingdom, signifying his professional qualifications in actuarial science.

Former Chairman of Securities and Exchange Commission
Mr. Faruq Ahmad Siddiqi has a long career in the government. He has served as the Chairman of Securities and Exchange Commission, Independent Director of Al- Arafah Islamic Bank Limited. He served as a member of the National Board of Revenue. He also served as the secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Post and Telecommunication.
Mr. Faruq Ahmad Siddiqi completed his B.A. & M.A. degree in English from University of Dhaka.

Former MD of ICB & Karmasangsthan Bank
Md. Abul Hossain brings over 33 years of distinguished leadership experience in the banking and financial sectors.
A veteran of the industry, Mr. Hossain previously served as the Managing Director of both the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) and Karmasangsthan Bank. His career is defined by a unique synthesis of high-level banking administration and deep technological expertise, making him a pivotal asset in modern credit evaluation.
In his current role at CRAB, he leverages his extensive background in institutional management and financial strategy to ensure rigorous and insightful rating standards.

Former MD & CEO of Jamuna Bank PLC
Mr. Shafiqul Alam brings an impressive career spanning over 40 years of banking leadership. A veteran executive in the financial sector, he previously served as the Managing Director & CEO of Jamuna Bank Ltd.. Throughout his four decades of experience, Mr. Alam has demonstrated extensive expertise in institutional management and strategic growth.
His profound understanding of the banking landscape and veteran leadership now play a vital role in upholding the rigorous analytical standards of the Credit Rating Agency of Bangladesh (CRAB).

Md. Minhaz Zia, CFA
Former MD & CEO of SABINCO
Mr. Md. Minhaz Zia, CFA, has a distinguished career spanning over 40 years in financial leadership. As the former Managing Director and CEO of SABINCO, Mr. Zia has demonstrated exceptional capability in managing complex financial institutions and investment strategies.
His professional standing is further underscored by his CFA designation, highlighting a commitment to the highest standards of financial analysis and ethical practice. At CRAB, he leverages his deep institutional knowledge to provide expert insights into credit risk and financial performance.

Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer
With 20+ years in banking, microfinance, DFS, and fintech, Mr. Azad drives CRAB’s growth and financial inclusion agenda.
He holds a B.A in English Literature (University of Chennai), an M.A in English (Dhaka University), and an MBA in Marketing (IBA, Dhaka University). He previously served as COO of BRAC
Microfinance and held senior roles at United Commercial Bank Ltd and British American Tobacco Bangladesh.

Vice President & Chief Rating Officer
A credit rating expert with 18+ years’ experience across Financial, Corporate, SME, Infrastructure and Structured Finance ratings, Mr. Nur leads CRAB’s analytical functions. He participated in many trainings including training on “Infrastructure Finance Rating” arranged by ADB & ACRAA in Thailand and four days training on “Rating Methodology & Framework” arranged by CRAB conducted by (ICRA Limited). He completed BBA and MBA in Finance from University of Dhaka and has passed CFA Level 1 (USA).

Vice President & Head of Business Development
Mr. Rabby brings 18+ years of experience, including 16 in credit rating. He leads business development and partnerships at CRAB. His qualifications include BBA & MBA from Stamford University Bangladesh, a Diploma in Product Development, and Level 6 CIM. He previously held leadership roles at BDRAL, CRISL, ECRL, Citycell, and DHL.

Senior Assistant Vice President
M. Tahmina Islam is a Senior Assistant Vice President (SAVP) and a member of the CRAB Rating Committee, bringing over 18 years of experience as a financial analyst. Her diverse expertise covers Banks, NBFIs, MFIs, Structured Finance, Insurance, and SME ratings. She has completed specialized international training in “Rating General Insurance Companies” (ACRAA, Malaysia) and “Rating Methodology & Framework” (ICRA Limited). Ms. Islam holds both an MBA in Finance and a BBA in Finance & Banking from the University of Dhaka.

Assistant Vice President
Mr. Nazrul is a seasoned risk management professional with 20+ years of experience in credit rating and financial management, including six years in reputed corporate houses prior to joining CRAB. He currently leads the SME Cluster, driving team performance and quality of analysis. He has trained over 1,000 professionals through in-house and external programs in his areas of expertise, including MS Excel.
He holds an MBA in Finance and is certified as a Professional Financial Analyst (PFA) and Financial Modeling & Valuation Professional (FMVP) from the Institute of Strategic Management and Finance (ISMF), USA.
